James does NOT twitter nor does he have a myspace or Facebook page
Recently, there has been a lot of buzz about James being on myspace and twitter. It turns out it's
not James but someone pretending to be him. The misrepresentation on myspace went quite far. The imposter was
blogging and replying to fans pretending to be James. The twitter account appears to still be active and has generated
quite a following. However, no one appears to be adding tweets.
In a recent statement to Soap Opera Digest James had this to say about the matter:
"The whole reason this came about is because I did an event in Hartford [CT] and people contacted my MySpace
page because they wanted to find out more about it. I looked at it and there is a MySpace page that is supposed to be my official
MySpace page, though it is not. It has nothing to do with me. You might think, 'Well, it's fans who have made a MySpace page
dedicated to me and they're pushing it by saying it's official.' Well, that would be true, but they've gone a step further
in that they are doing two things that are very misleading, one of which is a blog, which is not mine and the second is, they
are 'tweeting' as me. Alison Sweeney (Sami) found this out. Someone from my 'official' MySpace
page was sending messages as if they were from me. It didn't really bother me, but the problem is there are a lot of people
who don't know that there are people are pretending to be me." Scott says he isn't online at all. "I don't have an official
Web site, a MySpace page or a Facebook page and I am not on Twitter. I'm a technophobe; I barely use my computer and I don't
do social networking of any kind. And I can't imagine I'm the only person this has happened to."
While the myspace page has been removed please note the twitter account and Facebook pages still exist.
Please don't be fooled, these are not James. When something seems too good to be true, it usually is.
I don't like the idea of drawing more attention to this person than is necessary. However, I felt
it was important to place something here so no one else becomes a victim of this imposter.
