EJ Wells Dimera arrived in Salem on May 30th, 2006 clad only in a towel.  When he first arrived he was clouded in mystery.  No one knew anything about him.  As the story progressed, it was revealed that he was the son of Stefano Dimera.  He had been sent to Salem by his father to wreak havoc on the Salem   As EJ succeeded in those plans, he became close to Sami Brady, a member of the family that Stefano Dimera had sworn revenge against.  Through his relationship with Sami, EJ slowly began to change his ways.  He stood up to his father to protect Sami and their child, Johnny, on numerous occasions.  Through his growing individuality, EJ became a loving and devoted father to his child.  Through a series of events, EJ and Sami grew apart.  However, before they separated, Sami became pregnant with EJ’s child.  During their time apart, EJ married Nicole Walker, and Sami lied to EJ about being pregnant with his child.  Nicole then proceeded to lie to EJ about her pregnancy when she miscarried.  After which, she proceeded to switch a child she bought with Sami’s child.  By creating that switch, EJ was then raising his own child unbeknownst to him.  Sami’s baby died but both she and EJ grieved her loss because they thought she was their own.  Finally, EJ discovered all of the lies and deception.  He realized that Nicole had been lying and that Sydney was his child.  However, EJ was still upset with Sami’s deception about her pregnancy so he proceeded to create an elaborate plot to kidnap Sydney from Sami and keep her to himself.  The guilt of his deception and realization of his feelings for Sami forced EJ to return Sydney to her mother.  During the time Sydney was missing, EJ and Sami grew closer and that closeness only grew upon Sydney’s return.  Sami did not trust Rafe and agreed to marry EJ so that they could unite their family.  On the day of their wedding, Rafe burst in with the truth about Sydney’s kidnapper.  A shocked Sami stormed out of the mansion with the kids, later to return to shoot a passed out drunken EJ in the head.  In her rage, Sami threw the gun in the river and returned to Rafe.  EJ did not die, like was planned, he survived the fatal attack.  Now, EJ has learned the truth about his shooting from Nicole who acquired the video of Sami’s confession made by Arianna Hernandez.  EJ has told Sami that she has to turn the children over to him otherwise he goes to the police to turn her in, as well as those that helped cover her crime, i.e. Rafe and Will.  Sami turns the children over to EJ giving him full custody.  What will happen next?   Will EJ grow closer to Nicole again since she gave him the evidence of his attacker?  Will EJ let Nicole bond with Sydney again since that was her request to him?  Will Rafe and Will turn themselves in? Will EJ be safe from being attacked again?
